4 January 2024 – Anderillium Indigo Bunting Blue

There are red birds like the beautiful Northern Cardinal, and then there are neon red birds like the Scarlet Tanager. There are yellow birds, and then there is the neon yellow of a male American Goldfinch at the height of breeding season. And there are blue birds like the Blue Jay, and then there is the knock-your-socks-off blue of the Indigo Bunting. I’m not sure this ink is bold enough for my expectations, but it certainly gives enough of a hint to rekindle a birder’s heart on a cold winter day with the promise of spring migration and the chance to see an Indigo Bunting! #Anderillium #ink #inks #fountainpen #avian

Subtle beauty
“Look at that brilliant, blazing, bliss-inducing blue. It’s the kind of blue that inspires poets, that leads people to instill spiritual meaning in nature, that makes you glad to be alive in the world.” – Jack
Mirkinson
This is a species it actually makes fairly good sense to try to draw with one color! Go find yourself one in the wild!
(Notice my astronomy note? This is one of the few meteor showers this year not majorly impeded by moonlight, so if you’re in a place with clear skies, go sit under the stars and soak in the beauty.)
