8 January 2024 – Anderillium Shoebill Stork Grey

This is absolutely one of my GRAIL BIRDS. Pen folks have grail pens, but this would be an absolute dream to be in the presence of one of these ancient, strange, docile, deadly birds. Yet another terrific ink from the Avian series by Anderillium!

This bird stands over four feet tall.

This is the final Avian ink, so here they are from least to most favorite:

8. Indigo Bunting Blue

7. American Goldfinch Yellow

6. Pompadour Cotinga Burgundy

5. Purple Gallinule Purple

4. Common Loon Black

3. Green Kingfisher Green

2. Shoebill Stork Grey

1. Roseate Spoonbill Pink

Very nice grey in a very poor photo 🙂
“An endangered species, prehistoric in appearance and thought to have roots in the last days of the dinosaurs, it was estimated there were only a few thousand remaining in the wild.” – from “Encounter with a Shoebill” by Steve Carr at Spillwords Press’s “Where Words Matter”
Just overall a very very nice set of inks. Thank you, Anderillium, for the joy. These were some of the first bottles of ink I ever bought (at the 2022 Chicago Pen Show).
