22 January 2024 – Anderillium Rosy Maple Moth Pink

It’s pretty tough to draw this moth with only black and pink, as the species is entirely pink and yellow, so you’ll have to look this one up or use your imagination. This species can be found throughout eastern North America. It is a small moth that prefers (you guessed it) maple trees. It was first described in 1793.

(add yellow)
A pleasing pink, for sure
“…and before I could argue him out of his philosophy he went and immolated himself on a patent cigar lighter. I do not agree with him myself, I would rather have half the happiness and twice the longevity… but at the same time I wish there was something I wanted so badly as he wanted to fry himself.” -Don Marquis, The Lesson of the Moth 1927
