12 March 2024 – Monteverde Documental Permanent Black

I’m back! If everything goes according to schedule, you should see three posts a day until we’ve caught up with the blog posts (in the actual writing world, we just arrived at the end of “all the brands I own bottles of that aren’t Diamine” two days ago, and every single ink for the rest of the year will be a Diamine ink!

As we continue through the Monteverde lines, today’s ink is the one I use for my daily journal. I switched to an archival ink several months ago, realizing that most of these beautiful, modern fountain pen inks would be illegible if they are hit with water. Although this is a black, it writes as a smooth grey, and I love seeing it flow from my Edison LE Comet each morning and evening as I take some time to hold a mirror up to my day.

Unlike older documents that use iron gall or carbon ink, most modern fountain pen ink is water soluble.
