6 April 2024 – Noodler’s Ottoman Rose

Another terrific color. Any time I see an ink that is attempting to be a “less than primary” color (today not red, but some muted red) and that seems attractive, I’m impressed. Not sure if I actually should be, but it seems complicated to me to produce such a shade.

“In the Ottoman tradition, offering rose water was a precious treat; the custom was practiced not only in the palaces, but in the most modest houses as well. Rose was planted by the order of the Sultans to ensure a continuous supply of rose water and rose oil for use by the Palace.” -Al Shareef Oudh
