18 April 2024 – Pelikan Edelstein Apatite

Apatite is an absolutely gorgeous color. I tried collecting the Inks of the Year, but some of them just can’t be found. And, I was standing in front of a vendor who had one remaining bottle of one of the inks I needed for this particular limited release line, and I walked away and came back fifteen minutes later for it to find it snatched up (the popular 2021 Golden Beryl). So I’ve halted my pursuit of these, but this 2022 edition is the one I like the most.

Pelikan Edelstein Apatite (with a color error from writing in a wrong box).
Apatite is actually a gem.
“Apatite is a phosphate mineral that has a hardness of 5 on the Mohr scale, making it too soft to be widely used as a gemstone for jewelry. Apatites are transparent to translucent, most commonly green to blue, but can be colorless, yellow, violet, pink, or brown.” -Smithsonian
