29 May 2024 – Rohrer & Klingner Alt Goldgrün

Green-gold isn’t my favorite color, so I’m not terribly objective on this one, but for a color family I don’t care for, it’s certainly a well-behaved, nicely delicate-looking ink. I guess it just reminds me of macrame and old afghans knit by grandmothers. And that’s not a bad thing, I just don’t necessarily look for that in ink I’m likely to use.

I can imagine nice houseplants that ate happy and healthy with leaves this color.
“Nature’s first green is Gold. Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower: but only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf, so Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing Gold can stay.” -Robert Frost.
