Conklin Ink Rankings
Conklin has 11 inks, as far as I can tell, and I have seven of them. (Seems silly not to just get the other four, doesn’t it?). Another difficult ranking, because there isn’t one I disliked, it here’s my best shot at ranking: 7. Denim Blue 6. Antique Turquoise 5. Classic Black 4. Dark Rust…

13 February 2024 – Jacques Herbin Ambre de Baltique

A week of high end ink is coming your way from Jacques Herbin. Today we start with a gorgeous amber, but I’d expect all seven to be super rich and beautiful.
-
12 February 2024 – Dominant Industry Arizona Sky Crimson

The second of the Pen Chalet “Decade in the Desert” anniversary inks. Like I said yesterday, they go well together to evoke the image.
-
11 February 2024 – Dominant Industry Arizona Sky Citrus

Just two colors from Dominant Industry, made in collaboration with Pen Chalet to celebrate their 10th Anniversary. These two “Decade in the Desert” were the two inks in a line of anniversary products. They’re nice together, and would be terrific in ink art depicting (obviously) the Arizona Sky.

10 February 2024 – Conklin Dusty Rose

The newest addition to my small (by comparison to, say, my Diamine collection) Conklin bottles, Dusty Rose surprised me as a pleasant shade. The saturation, depth, and subtlety of this color seems spot on.

9 February 2024 – Conklin Israel 75

This limited edition ink was produced, along with a pen limited to 1948 pens in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the State of Israel. Am Israel Chai.
-
8 February 2024 – Conklin Rich Mahogany

This was the first Conklin ink I had experience with, and it remains an elegant, outstanding color.
-
7 February 2024 – Conklin Denim Blue

Perhaps the most intriguing of these seven colors, as the denim has a lot of grey in it. But it’s a pleasant, gentle color for sure.
-
6 February 2024 – Conklin Dark Rust

We don’t really like rust, right? Well, I love this color! Across the line, at least in the colors I own, there’s a very classic vibe, and I like it.

5 February 2024 – Conklin Classic Black

While it might seem unusual to folks who don’t use various inks and might think black is black, that is absolutely not the case, and today’s black is rich, dark, and extremely saturated.
