27 May 2024 – Private Reserve Vampire Red
There are a lot of things about today’s ink that you would think would make it a hard pass for me: it’s not terribly saturated, it’s not flashy or pretty or much else. And yet, I have enjoyed this ink nearly as long as PR Black Cherry.

26 May 2024 – Private Reserve Tanzanite
This is a mysterious, intriguing ink. It’s got a boldness to it, and a beauty, and overall it seems alluring to me. If I had to pick a purple, that isn’t Backpack, this might be the one.

25 May 2024 – Private Reserve Sherwood Green
This is a handsome green. It’s also the biggest shading green of the month (which you’ll see when we get to the review, unless a more shading green comes in the next week).

24 May 2024 – Private Reserve Neon Fuschia
Again, today’s ink stands out in a way other May inks don’t, and yet I don’t totally get a neon vibe (though perhaps today’s is more neon-y than yesterday’s). More importantly, I don’t get a fuschia vibe. But it’s a very, very nice pink, even a “neon pink”.

23 May 2024 – Private Reserve Neon Blue
Robin egg blue, I think. Not neon to me. In a way, though, it stands out among the other May inks in. Way others don’t. So, it’s attention getting 🙂

22 May 2024 – Private Reserve Permanent Invincible Blue
I always imagine “permanent” means dark, and not the pleasantly light color of today’s ink. I feel pretty much the same about an ink bearing the word “invincible”. Now, I couldn’t tell you how permanent or invincible the ink is, but I can direct you to Goulet’s swatch library, where they have put every ink…

21 May 2024 – Private Reserve Midnight Blue
This blue is less flashy than Electric DC, but quite a handsome, blue. Again, just those slightest tinges of red. And a little bit of that denim look that leans towards purple. Nice ink.

20 May 2024 – Private Reserve Electric DC Blue
This is a special edition ink, produced for those in attendance at the Washington DC Fountain Pen Supershow. And it’s a stunner. While the reddish tones don’t come out in shades, they’re definitely present. It’s amazing to me how many brilliant blue inks have quite a bit of red in them.

19 May 2024 – Private Reserve Ebony Purple
This color evokes the rich colors of royalty in ancient times, when even biblical descriptions reached for the word “purple” to describe something extravagant. It’s bluish, and it’s definitely purple, and it has some blackish to it, as well. Have you gone out and gotten yourself some new ink yet?

18 May 2024 – Private Reserve Ebony Green
Another stunning g color. Although a name like “pine” or “fir” might have worked here, there is the slightest darkness in the shades of this ink that the moniker fits quite well. Speaking of monikers, a google search for quotes revealed a person named Dr Ebony Green, so the quotes are from her.
