We begin a seven day journey through a few Conklin inks. In general, ink from manufacturers of fountain pens tends to be very well-behaved, and these seven are no exception. Nonetheless, some shine through with beauty, including today’s Antique Turquoise.

After six straight up ink colors, this stunning high sheen purple comes at us. Tough to rank the Backpack Ink, but I’ll give it a shot.

Everyone who’s been to Iceland says it’s terrific, and this black is stunning as well.

Not my favorite red, but a well-behaved ink that would be perfect if this is the shade you’re going for.

A beautiful, dark denim for today’s ink in the fifth offering from Backpack. And… one of my favorite cities in the world!

30 January 2024 – Backpack Ink Dublin Green
Not my favorite green, but honestly green is a very difficult color to produce, whether in ink or paint. Still a solid quality ink.

29 January 2024 – Backpack Ink Berlin Brown
Today’s ink is not only an all-time favorite of mine, it is the only ink I have ever used in my Monteverde Regatta omniflex, which I use almost every day. If that isn’t an endorsement, I dunno what is.

28 January 2024 – Backpack Athens Blue
Solid ink from a company that currently has only eight colors (and has for as long as I’ve known about them). Athens Blue is lovely.
