    Inkistry 2025 – 1 March

Dark Powderbug 1 part Gunpowder 1 part Ladybug Well, this color fascinates me, both by itself and in combination with its Powderbug cousins. Appropriately, we’ve moved into March and this color is less red and more lilac or light purple. And all three Powderbugs are quite different! But most surprisingly, it just so happens that…

Here it is: the month in review! Let me know your favorites, least favorites, thoughts, suggestions, ideas, and more! (Anybody wanna rank them?)

    Inkistry 2025 – 28 February

Light Powderbug 1 part Gunpowder 8 parts Ladybug There’s something very appealing about the 8:1 ratio of these two inks (and there’s a marked difference, unlike the results of the Fire Hydrant/Gunpowder experiment). Inkistry 2025 – 24 February

Firepowder 5 parts Fire Hydrant 1 part Gunpowder This is the kind of red I’ve been aiming for all month long! Fortunately we have all year to ascend the learning curve of the art of mixing these inks. This is the first of three with these two Atomink Elements inks.

    Inkistry 2025 – Pause

I needed nothing more than to sit at my desk and conduct a few inksperiments today. Unfortunately, it just didn’t happen. So here’s another look back at a beautiful ink: Rohrer & Klingner’s Alt-Bordeaux.

Another quick throwback, meaning you’ll get two lab experiments tomorrow.

Ladybug E.F. 1 part Emerald Fusion 10 parts Ladybug We can finally claim a red ink, but barely. All three of these mixtures of EF and LB have been terrific, but none have been what I was hoping for.
