I wanted this ink to be more grey than brown, like its namesake, but it does come remarkably close to the subtle shading of this species. Common host plants are cherry, apple, plum, apricot, almond, birch, oak, beech, and citrus trees.

Another great color as we hit the home stretch for Anderillium. The Queen Alexandra’s Birdwing is the largest butterfly species in the world. It is also on the IUCN’s Endangered list, and is restricted to the forests of Oro Province in eastern Papua New Guinea.

I always think of a Luna Moth as yellow-green, and this ink seems more minty to me, so I’m struggling a bit with this one. But give it a different name, and it’s another lovely ink!

Not the male has any blue, and that limited to a shocking strip on each wing segment of an otherwise jet black butterfly of the tropical montaine forests. The ink is leaning towards turquoise, which is just fine by me.
