Inkistry 2025 – 30 January

Nikola’s Naples Hadron Collider

1 part Interstellar Bronze

A few drops Naples

2 parts Tesla Coil

Later today, I will be posting a “TMI Technical” article about some of the details of this Inkistry experiment and some concerns I have going forward.

Right now, however, we have another “end of the line” ink. We combined the Atomink Elements Tesla Coil and Interstellar Bronze to get Hadron Collider; we added more Tesla Coil to make it Nikola’s Hadron Collider; now we’ve added some (pigment-based) Naples to create Nikola’s Naples Hadron Collider. And the results are…

…barely noticeable at best. Even though there was enough Naples to stain the glass dip pen, and perhaps there’s enough to give the ink more water resistance, the overall effect was to MAYBE lighten the green/blue shade just a touch. Here are the results (and I’ll see you later with the technical):

I love the big 100ml bottles!
Not sure whether the “more green, less sheen” has anything to do with the addition of Naples. I tend to think not.

  1. Great idea! It makes me wonder how adding a little Naples might help other inks. Some fascinating layers to this experiment are unfolding in my brain, and questions about how to master the mixing of inks!
